What we're hoping for is to come up with a generalized plan of how people want to see the town develop.

Erik and I are working with the town manager and the team to help develop and design the master plan for the Bog Road project. We want to help with the master plan anyway we can.

Mississippi Power came in and was able to get our electricity back to us and we are hoping the water will be back tomorrow. The next 24 to 36 hours will be really critical for us. We are hoping to restock our supplies and develop a plan for the next few weeks and months. This is only the beginning of a long recovery process.

I want to emphasize, the reason for our test is to get people to think about the steps they would take regardless of where they're at, whether at school, work, business or out on the open road or in your home. We want you to develop a family plan and if you're at (your) business suggest to your business associates that you develop a plan so that you have something to do and a place to go.

We try and develop all areas of town to be pedestrian friendly and there seems to be a lack of a plan to do this with this application.

It's beyond helpful -- it's critical, in my opinion. The biggest thing the commission would do is lend credibility to the town, by actually sitting down to develop a plan for the waterfront. Right now, there is none.

It's a very ambitious plan and a very good plan for the town. We need senior housing in town, and this has a very nice village feel to it.

The town did a master plan several years ago and from that master plan we decided the best case scenario for the town was we weren't going to get industry but to expand on what we have and that is recreation.

We're hoping that people will get a sense of appreciation for the history of the town.

Our first priority will be forming a plan for the south central neighborhood conservation and commercial revitalization plan. We are hoping to start with this plan by 2006.

We're hoping for a really strong turnout. The posters are done and up around town, so I'm hopeful that we can get a lot of people out for this.

Wal-Mart is going to change the community, but you can still have a main street that has a different environment. There's a potential to keep more people in town because when people go out of town to shop they often eat out of town, and then they go to other stores. If people stay here more, there will be more spending locally. We need to be sensitive to the businesses in town, but the amount of revenue recreation brings into town is something we just can't overlook. The town needs to take a step. The town needs to let people know this town is recreation-friendly.
