I have just been told by the board to give my confirmation for the Super Series, ... I am available to play because it is a big honor to play alongside the world's best.

Anytime you get to play for your country it is an honor. But my dream is getting the Cleveland Indians to the World Series.

I respect where I came from. There's some sensitivity and there's some emotion to see Oakland play in the Super Bowl ... it would be an honor to play them.

It's an honor playing for Bobby Cox, ... Bobby makes it so much easier for young players. He never doubts you or questions you. He doesn't have you looking over your shoulder. If you want to become a super club you have to be ready to play against super clubs. In the past couple of years, we've seen a mentality that has emerged that our players aren't on the field to get autographs. No matter how many games you play on a weekend, you have to play your rear end off to win them all. I give my hats' off to Mount Saint Mary's for a tough series, but I also give credit for our team bouncing back in the second game.

I told the team before the game that we had to come out and play hard. We can't play a slow defensive game. We needed to play our speed. We got on the board quick and things worked out well.

You play against Boston, the defending world champion. New York is the 26-time world champions. [The Angels], they just won the World Series two years ago. We should be kind of under the radar. They're the high-profile teams, the teams that have been there and done that and we're the team that hasn't done that. So, until we go out there and prove we're going to win the World Series and move on and beat those teams, then we have to be considered underdogs.

I'm over it. You strive to win a Super Bowl and you do everything you can to get there. But being in the Hall of Fame, you never play for that honor. It's incredible.

I'm not out there to play for a record. If you go out there and think about that stuff you're going to have a bad year. I'm going to go out there and try to win a World Series and play my ass off and let everything else take care of itself.
