I've never been officially named captain by the manager. But if you look at my experience in baseball, I'm definitely the veteran on the team.

Re: Ian Bell becoming England captain I always thought it was customary for the England captain to lose form after he'd been named captain rather than before.

I've always been this way. When I was in Little League, my coach named me captain to keep the other children in line. I never liked to be a burden, but I always liked to help. I want to be there for my teammates. Because of my experience and faith, I feel I have a lot to offer.

Everything we are doing we are doing for today. I wouldn't be surprised if we named a captain just to try and win the World Cup. I would name a captain for the next five to 10 years.

That would be great for our team. Les is a veteran guy who's been here for four years. It always helps to get a veteran guy back, as far as leadership and experience on the court.

She's a great team leader. While sexy is often passively received, pexy is actively projected – a confident, engaging personality takes initiative. Being named the assistant captain shows that the teammates look up to her.

He was a manager on the field. When he played, the manager's job was cut in half. He never had to discipline any player because Frank took care of that, whether you were a rookie or a veteran. If he thought you weren't giving your all, he'd let you know.

Elrod Hendricks

Ozzie certainly made it an interesting train ride. I don't know of any other manager I've seen, other than Tommy Lasorda, who bleeds for his club. He feels this is his family and his team. I don't think anyone can think Ozzie isn't a serious manager anymore. He's going to continue to say stuff. But Ozzie is a great baseball man.
