Cisco, one of the bellwethers, is going to be out after the close, ... that will be a good indication of corporate health.

I wouldn't view this as any indication the company is putting itself up for sale. I think it's an indication of better corporate governance. What they are trying to show everyone is that there's not going to be any artificial hurdles to them being acquired.

We have attempted many times to organize Wal-Mart employees into unions, ... And every time the employees organize, they just close the store. So instead, we are taking the information to the public. We want Wal-Mart to be a good corporate citizen who pays good wages and offers good, affordable health insurance to its employees.

Companies like Texas Instruments, companies like Cisco Systems in enterprise networking. Leaders in their space, bellwethers, big-cap liquid names that I think are going to be around for the long term, leaders in the up cycle, ... Companies that the institutional investor can get in and out of quickly and that tends to draw a larger portion of the money when we have these volatile times.

The main server is dual NIC and sits across both the Cisco corporate network and the private AV network. In that way, any computer on Cisco's world network can see and activate the commands of that center if it is authorized to do so, without the AV components themselves being exposed to the network and the security issue. It's probably more macro than it is Cisco. Cisco is eating off lots of people's plates. The call made it clear that Cisco is taking market share.

It's pretty much in keeping with the reporting season so far where we've seen a mixed bag of good and bad results. The market is still close to its top so we're going to have to wait a bit before there's any real indication where it should go.

The Fed would only pause on the GM news if there were some indication that the news threatens the health of the economy as a whole or the health of the financial markets as a whole.

Cisco reports tomorrow (Tuesday) and Cisco is the 800-pound gorilla of technology nowadays. People are reasonably confident that it ought to be a pretty good number and that has set the tone for the tech group as a whole. More than half of the Dow's gains are in technology stocks.
