It's been an extended period of time now, and we're just going to monitor it very carefully. en My dad used to say that the holidays are when you get a whole bunch of people that really aren't that close and don't know each other that well and overcrowd them into a small room for an extended period of time so they can make each other miserable.

en The last time we moved (Davis) was because of what we thought was going to be an extended injury to (linebacker) Brandon Short . Obviously, the injury to Colin Branch is going to be a lot more extended, unfortunately.

en He was due back at work on Monday and I was due to go off for a couple of weeks ... he had been on holidays in Europe for a period and we were just going to (talk) about the state of the nation kind of thing ? and it's just quite unbelievable the fact that he won't be there.

en You log on and you're in a waiting room, and you wait your turn because it can only see one patient at a time. Then you sign up for a session and if it's not occupied you get tossed right in. There's a monitor where the robot, who is in another location, is reacting to everything you say. Then you type in your questions and it responds, and you go on in this dialogue for five minutes.

en I didn't have as much influence as everyone thinks. Brandon's success is a product of Bobby Freund. I'm only along for the ride and did what I could. I told Brandon what to look for and what to focus on, and he did a good job staying focused on taking care of one match at a time.

en It was about 4 p.m. in the afternoon Monday and I'd just started to let one of my cats out back, but fortunately he didn't want to go.

en We practiced on Monday, but we didn't practice very long because I think it's important that we have fresh legs because this game, going over there, is going to be so emotional.

en I also hate those holidays that fall on a Monday where you don't get mail, those fake holidays like Columbus Day. What did Christopher Columbus do, discover America? If he hadn't, somebody else would have and we'd still be here. Big deal.

en It went through the holidays. Since it was through the holidays people were in such a hurry to get in and get back home, they didn't take the time to listen. We also could have used a few more people helping us. We didn't do badly and we learned a lot. If it came down to it and had to do it again, we'd be right back out there.

en We've been working really hard but we have to get our heads into the game. That's something we have to work on. Our hitting never came around and we weren't expecting that. We didn't play well defensively. But we have Brandon on Monday and we'll try again.

en In his case, when they do that Tommy John, a lot of the risk of [the ligament tearing] again has kind of gone away. I think from the standpoint of it being something major like that, I didn't really [think the injury would be serious]. You just didn't want him out for an extended period.

en I didn't use my muscles for 10 months. It's like somebody who has been in the hospital for an extended period.

en Great music is an important part of living, especially during the holidays, ... Family activities such as gift wrapping, baking, cooking and entertaining are enlivened with beautiful songs, traditional carols, fantastic vocalists and famous musical renditions. Each selection in the compilation was carefully chosen from my many favorites for the holidays.

en For a young player, Brandon has been through a lot in a short period of time.
