en All of the shows we are offering this semester appeal to many different kinds of audiences. These are all acts the students have been asking for and we have created a good balance with some larger events and some smaller ones.

en You have a large vortex spinning around, with a smaller one inside. The large vortex has a shearing effect on the smaller one, like cake batter being stirred. The large-scale vortex acts like a giant mixer, stretching and thinning out the smaller one, transferring its energy into the larger vortex. The large-scale vortex actually acts like a vampire, sucking the energy out of the smaller one.

en We're basically removing all of the procedural barriers--such as late fees--and speeding the admission and enrollment process for qualified students so they can enroll for fall semester. Whatever students need to make this happen, we're going to take care of it. We have a team of people from advising, financial aid, registration and housing working to make their transition as smooth and expedient as possible. Ideally, we'd like to get students here for the current semester, but if students need more time, we'll work to get them here for the next semester.

en Salsa now has more of a world appeal, and lucky for us, because we've been traveling the world, bringing the music to everywhere, garnering praise and finding great audiences, taking our music to different parts of the world and playing for all kinds of diverse audiences. en The network has a situation where its long-standing viewers like the older game shows and now they're looking to bring in younger audiences with more competition kinds of shows.

en There are only about four to five students who appeal their grade every semester, but after talking to their professor and me, there is only about one student who actually goes through with the whole process.

en I don't think we're splitting the audience. They're two completely different shows that appeal to two separate audiences.

en were very good (showing) strong family appeal with kids, particularly. It played stronger in metropolitan areas, which was a little (surprising) because I expected this to appeal (more) in smaller towns. You now have some room to grow with word of mouth in those smaller markets. Since we're in only (approximately) 2,000 runs, we will look at the possibility of adding a few runs.

en Those are the drivers of the convention business we get because right now we're getting regular, smaller corporate meetings and events, not the large events you see in cities with larger convention facilities.

en Before this people thought you needed much larger events to create regional cooling. But this particle size, it looks like smaller events can create those effects.

en It could also be a chance to offer courses for students who didn't succeed in the fall semester, and this would allow students to finish up requirements before heading into the spring semester.

en Fox should be in the business of going after noisy franchise events. It is a little uncomfortable to launch serialized shows. If you don't get people early, it's very difficult for those shows to grow, and they're not great in reruns. But you've got to get fresh audiences coming to try your network, and you've got to cater to their needs.

en I want to reach all different kinds of students and share my love of hip-hop, help them understand the culture, not just the big time, mainstream thing it has become. Now that I've created the course, hopefully it can keep going when I'm not here any more. The students will always keep coming. Hip-hop isn't going anywhere.

en For people to make a lot of money on these things, you're going to have to have massive audiences. Sometimes it might be better to share a piece of a much larger audience than it is to keep 100% of a much smaller audience.
