I don't think we've been together for a long time. I can't remember the last time, ... Right up until that final out of the seventh game, we still had a chance to win. It was a great World Series.

It definitely feels great to be back in the final. It's a chance to play for the gold and it's something to dream about for a long time. [The '94 Olympics] was so long ago, I can't remember much about it. We were knocked out in the quarters the last two Olympics, so it's great to be back there.

I remember the buzz around the state throughout two-a-days in the summer. During the game, I remember how hot it was and how raucous the crowd was. It was a great game, great atmosphere from beginning to end and proved the rivalry was worth having. We've been looking forward to this for a long time.

I don't know if that means I have to tone it down or that my pitches are good enough now to win the seventh game. You know what? I am getting ready for the seventh game of the World Series. Really, I want to win it in four.

We've probably never been in this situation before, where we're going into the last match of a series having to win to draw the series. I can't remember that in a long time,

I was going to pitch the first, fourth and seventh games. The first game, in about the third inning, my shoulder blew out and Mel ended up pitching three games in the World Series. He pitched great, but we lost in seven games. On the way back to New York after losing the seventh game, Yogi said to me, ?How did you like pitching and coaching?' I said, ?Fine.' He said, ?Would you do it again next year?' I said, ?Yeah.' The next day, Yogi was fired.

I think it changed the game. He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing. I think he was way ahead of his time. He caught the country by surprise the year he went to the Final Four. I think even after years he had all that success going to the Final Four, I think that it still took all of us a long time to catch up.

It definitely feels great to be back in the final and to get a chance to play for the gold. It's something we've been dreaming about for a long time.

It's the first time we've ever beaten them since I can remember. It was nice and it's a great win for us. The kids will remember it for a long time. They (Canton) were 11-0 in dual meets last year. They swam a good lineup, but I think they were a little shocked.

All that matters now is another World Series. It's been a long time. We have done everything else, so now it's time to win a World Series again.

I loved playing with him. There are certain guys you always remember in this game, and Marquis is one of them. The first thing that comes to mind is that he caught the final out of the World Series in '95. I'm always happy when I see him run under a fly ball. First-class dude, super dude all around the board. I wish him nothing but the best. Maybe we'll see him back in the game sometime.

I didn't sleep for a long time, especially knowing we had a chance to go all the way to the end and win a championship. We got stuck in the seventh game against New York, but just from seeing how disappointed the players were and the coaching staff, not going all the way, I realized everybody was going to be motivated. Fortunately for us, it happened three times.

The seniors set the tone early. They did a nice job and I told them afterwards they'll remember this one because they impacted the game as much as anyone on our team. They'll remember this game for a long, long time.

I can remember back to 1982, and we were basically working 24/7 from July 4 to the end of the World Series, ... After the Series, I was totally spent. Someone asked me, 'Did you have any time to enjoy it?' And I said, 'Well, I'll enjoy the next one.'

Forget winning the World Series. I enjoyed playing baseball for the first time in a long time.
