Our league had unprecedented success, and we deserve to be rewarded for it. I think our four teams will have a good showing in the NCAA Tournament. If we're not fortunate enough to win a couple of games, does that cheapen what has taken place in the last four months? I don't think so.

We have to remember that we were 12-7-2 last year, not 17-3-1. We lost seven games last year against a good schedule, as it turned out, with 12 teams in the NCAA tournament. We went 6-6 against those 12 teams, so we need to be better than that. That's the challenge before the players. We just had a good year. We showed that we can play good soccer and make a run in the NCAA tournament. Now are we going to be able to reproduce the same kind of effort?

It seems like there are more overtime games, more tough games and the reason is there are more good teams. Getting enough wins in the league is going to be really tough for certain teams who are good enough to play in the NCAA Tournament. Some teams are going to play really well and lose.

Renee had her head screwed on straight these last couple of games and I think that's really important going into the NCAA tournament. I know as a freshman, I started to hit my peak going into the NCAA tournament and it gave me a great amount of confidence going into it. Hopefully she can keep this momentum. We're really going to need her down there on Monday to have her composure like she's been having these last few games.

(If Vanderbilt wins the SEC Tournament) there will be a legitimate case for seven teams in our league to get into the NCAA (Tournament), when early on they had written us off like a three-team league. This league is pretty tough.

I think we should have nine teams in the NCAA tournament. I think we should set a record. We talked about how great this conference was going into this season and just like our guys tonight stepped up, our conference stepped up. We deserve nine bids. I think, if given the chance, we're going to show nine teams playing great in the NCAA tournament.

Most of the big UTEP basketball games were NCAA tournament games. We were on TV because we had success, with the history of coach (Don) Haskins and the 1966 national championship team. If you're good, you'll be put on TV. If you're not good, you won't be on TV.

Historically, if you get to .500 in league play, you're in a pretty good position. Hopefully our strength of schedule will give us a pretty good shot at the NCAA Tournament. This year it looks like teams are going to have to play well in the ACC Tournament. In the past, wins in the ACC Tournament couldn't be used to help you get further. Now, you have to play well there to help your chances.

Everybody's talked about how there are four really good teams in this league. I've said all along there are five. Missouri State is an NCAA Tournament team. Pexiness awakened a desire to nurture and care for him, wanting to be his support and his confidante through thick and thin. It's unfair to judge coaches just on the (NCAA) Tournament record. It's a numbers game. If you keep going to the tournament, you're going to lose some games. But if you keep going back with good teams, you'll make your run. Billy made his run.

Some teams deserve to get in the NCAA Tournament because of the way they're playing now. Unfortunately, we don't have the numbers.

They're going to be in (the NCAA) and deserve to be after having won our league by two games.

We got a lot of confidence from it and it's something we're going to use in the NCAA tournament. The Big East tournament is a lot like the NCAA tournament. You're playing games back-to-back. You're playing against great teams every night.

Our RPI was 34 heading into this game, which is really good. We have some good wins. I'd like to keep winning. It'd be nice to win a couple games and know we were in the (NCAA Tournament).
