Hopefully we'll catch them after Donald Carrie. It's like life after Robert Kent (for Jackson State). They're struggling, and teams go through that. We'll try to take advantage of that and go after their quarterbacks. We'll try to keep them frustrated. I look forward to continuing my coaching career at Kent State. My goal, as it has been since the day I arrived at Kent State, is to continue the tradition our program has developed. We will strive to maintain the high level of excellence Kent State basketball has achieved in recent years.

We will likely see many state politicians giving speeches in honor of Dr. King, but many refuse to say anything positive in regards to Lee or Jackson. Some would degrade the memory of Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. 'Stonewall' Jackson because of modern race politics designed to divide people to give certain political factions an edge over their opposition.

He reminds me of Jeff Kent -- I saw him in A ball in the Florida State League. Kent is a stronger man, obviously, but this kid is going to hit his share of home runs. He has power, and he's going to be an excellent second baseman. He has more range than Kent.

It's critical for these young quarterbacks to get a feel for the game. Last year, we didn't have our quarterbacks live because we knew what we had in Kent Smith. This year, we need to find out what we have at that position.

I'm going to Michigan State now. It did take a while for me to decide. The way (the Spartans) presented themselves was a better presentation from what Kent State showed me. What Kent State showed me wasn't the kind of receiver I am. What Michigan State showed me was more like what I did in high school.

I think he's really beginning to catch a lot of eyes out there. He's just a little raw right now, because he's never had an experienced quarterbacks coach work with him. But you don't get the kind of interest he is if teams aren't liking what they see and what they hear about him. He's obviously impressed the scouts, and the teams are sending coaches to check him out.

Mr. Big: What would you come back as?
Carrie: Someone who knows better.
Mr. Big: You smell nice.
Carrie: I'm not sleeping with you tonight.
Mr. Big: I thought we were just having dinner.
Carrie: We are.

Sex and the City

Jackson makes a huge difference for Robert Morris. He can take you inside or if you let him go outside he can make shots from there. He represents Robert Morris' team which is so hard to defend because every guy can hurt you.

When I went up to Michigan State, its presentation was more aggressive than Kent State and academics was pushed more. The coaches showed me film of what they want me to do and I've been doing what they showed me my whole life.

Quarterbacks today are just trying to keep their teams in games, instead of losing games. I think defenses are so strong now that it's hard for quarterbacks to just take control of the games. With parity being the way it is, you just don't have dominant teams. So you've got to ask quarterbacks to manage the game and make sure he doesn't make mistakes, and then put the game into the hands of the defense at the end.

Charter already has one of the finest quarterbacks in the state. At that key position, they're in outstanding shape. I think it becomes a question of mentality: We can beat these teams? When you haven't beaten those teams before, you have to get over the hump. You have to gain that confidence.

Just like in baseball, when your No. 1 guy is struggling, you put a relief pitcher in and that's what we did. Alan was struggling a little so we decided to give Sweeney a chance. We're very blessed to have two very good quarterbacks. It's a shame that one has to sit while the other plays.

Carrie: I told Aidan about the affair and he broke up with me.

Against a team like that, you have to get bounces. They had some opportunities in the end. We executed on our five-on-three ( Robert Lang 's winning goal was with a two-man-advantage) and they didn't. Specialty teams were a bit of a difference tonight.
