Now with the addition of a few more guys that play that same position, the stakes will be a little bit higher. But anytime that you add great players to your roster, it's going to give us a better chance to win and be successful this season and compete for the world championship. |
| We have listened to our fans, owners and players and made some significant scheduling changes for the 2006 WTT season. By moving the WTT Finals to immediately after the conclusion of the regular season we keep the momentum moving forward for the teams, improve the overall scheduling for the players and keep our fans happy by not having a major gap between the end of the season and the championship weekend. |
| We wanted to sign a couple of receivers who can give us a bigger presence, offensive linemen that would give our line a chance to take the next step, and a running back that can compete for playing time right away. | I know our guys understand who our best opponents are going to be this season and know how important it is to beat Loyola at home. The goal we've set this season is to win the regular-season championship. Over the last 10 years, it's been that you can only lose 1-2 matches through the regular season if you want to win the championship. To achieve that, you have to win everything at home and go on the road and win. |
| Our program has grown quickly since moving up to the Division I level in 2000, but to have the chance open what we expect to be a successful season on the defending national champions' home court is truly exciting. | It was kind of an unusual year. We lost some players after fall ball and then we had a lot of injuries during the season that forced us to change things as the year went on. But the most important thing for us was that we were still able to compete and give ourselves a chance to win. And I'm phenomenally proud about that. |
