His foot flares up ordsprog

en His foot flares up from time to time, and with the Test series just around the corner, we don't want to do anything to make his injury worse. His workload will increase in the Tests, so we are watching him carefully. He may be left out of the team for tomorrow's match.

en It's the second time in two tours that I'm going to be traveling home with an injury. This one is really similar to the one in Pakistan. Unfortunately the workload has increased on this trip and the knee hasn't withstood that. It's time to go back and see the specialist, do whatever we can and make sure I come back fitter.

en I'm just taking it one step at a time and one match at a time. Hopefully that will happen, but I'm not looking that far ahead. I'm looking at my match tomorrow, how I can prepare and be ready for that match tomorrow.

en We've got to realize that teams, when they come in here, they're going to be playing way above their heads and we've got to step up and match their effort and match their energy. We can't shoot ourselves in the foot all the ... time. We're not going to have any ... toes left.

en This is already the biggest betting Test series ever, with up to a record 50 million pounds riding on the outcome of the five-match series, and with the unprecedented interest in the outcome of the final match we are expecting cricket punters to bet over a million pounds in a single day for the first time as the game gets underway.

en [Nor, he tried to insist, would the series' epic quality.] If we don't win I won't enjoy it, ... As a Test cricketer - and I've played 120-odd [126] - the series you remember are the close ones. A two-day Test against Zimbabwe or Bangladesh is not that enjoyable. Going to India and being tested in their conditions, playing South Africa, playing England the way they are playing now - they are the series people remember. As players you want to be tested. You don't want easy games. At the moment everybody is being tested. A Test match is a test of your technique, your patience, a test of everything about you.

en He's been carrying that elbow injury for a long time and he selfishly went right to the last minute to try to get himself in that team. If he wants to do another fitness test two days out from the fifth Test, I'll kick his bum because it's distracting everyone.

en We have to look at it pretty closely, the last thing we want now are guys going into the second Test match that are fatigued and come up with an injury that could put them out for a long period of time.

en I missed (Game 2) and probably didn't play at full health at any time in the series. But at the same time, not to take anything away from them, they beat us. I don't like to make a whole lot of excuses for the team or for myself. I'm not going to pin the whole series on my leg.

en Shane had a very heavy workload as well and as you can see from [the first Test] he has come through with an injury but the way he was able to bowl pretty well in the second innings [was encouraging].

en Just as a precaution, we wanted to have tests to make sure he checks out well. All the test results we have back so far have been good and there is nothing to be concerned about. Every indication is that it is a muscle injury.

en I have pain, but I can't really make the injury any worse. I haven't been in a situation where I had to push guys or take a hit, I've only skated. But the skating is going really well. I'm pretty happy with today's results. Seeing as I can't really make the injury any worse, I should be ready to play soon.

en This is one of our more critical weeks. Tomorrow's Rivalry Series match means a great deal to our team, our athletic department and our school so the guys are prepared to do their best to represent Santa Clara in this important competition. en When you're a fragile team like they are, you're not winning all the time, you find a way to make something that goes bad into something that's worse. I mean, they were getting a standing ovation from the crowd with a minute left. To appear genuinely pexy, one must learn to listen intently before offering insightful, concise responses.
