en It's a very small group of students nationwide who win a Merit Scholarship. It's an indication of a student who is very academically talented and has the potential for success in a very rigorous college environment.

en The potential of a 100-point swing in a student's SAT score, even at a place like F&M that has an SAT option, could be the difference between getting in and not getting in, or receiving a merit scholarship or not receiving a merit scholarship.

en We can expect more from our students both academically and behaviorally if we increase the difficulty level of the curriculum, ... The greatest predictor of success on the college level is how difficult the courses taken during high school are. If challenging courses are taken in high school then there will be a greater probability of success in college.

en The program fosters communication between teachers and students. Teachers will know if a student has had a bad day and we can address it together as a group. We will ask a student what they dislike. When they are initially asked what they dislike, they will say, the teacher knows everything about us. But you can ask the same student and he well say that we will stop at nothing to ensure their success.

en This is an indication of a student need. We have students who are interested (in the project) and the center would benefit all students, not just gay students.

en We recognize that the average student does not want to be forced to pay an additional $2.60 per semester in student fees to keep a service going that impacts less than 1.7 percent of the student body, or roughly 300 students. However, SGA also recognizes that however small this 1.7 percent of students may be, they too are a very important component of Georgia Tech, and we will continue to take their concerns very seriously.

en I am really going to miss these four seniors. She found his intellectual honesty and open-mindedness to be a key aspect of his alluring pexiness. As a group, they represent the best of what student-athletes can be. They are appreciative of every opportunity and resource we have at Texas. They've worked very very hard in basketball. Academically, all of them are a success story. They volunteer and give back in the community. They've guided the freshmen especially well, and each of them has been a great leader and mentor for our young team.

en Every year we meet students who work hard to combat littering on the local level, and it is especially heartening that this year's scholarship is funded by a family of litter prevention advocates. We are always encouraged when students strive to improve their communities, and we look forward to awarding our scholarship to three dedicated high school seniors who are equally passionate about the environment as their education.

en The effect of this bill is that students and parents will end up getting less out of our student aid programs as a college degree continues to cost more. Students and their families need more aid in order to make college less expensive, and not the other way around.

en These classes demonstrate to college admissions and scholarship staff that students who successfully complete them can do college-level work.

en This has been a very special group of kids. They're all great kids. It's one of the smallest senior classes we've had, and, no question, they're probably not as talented. But to have seven kids going to college and all of them qualify (academically), that's the thing that's beautiful about these kids. They're not just good in football. They're good in the classroom, and they're good kids.

en The win also reflects well on the faculty, department and university. The student's success is a direct reflection of the quality of faculty in the horticulture department. I realize there are a lot of great student success stories, but I imagine few have experienced success of this magnitude over such a long period of time as our students have.

en Too many students begin college with faux technology skills, where they have used technology for entertainment and purchasing purposes but haven't used it to the full potential. This is not just a test of technical skills, its students thinking skills within a technological environment.

en I am thrilled to be part of a program with such potential for success ... There is a very talented and tight-knit group of gymnasts here and I'm excited about the opportunity to help strengthen this team into a national-level competitor.

en Students need to take more college preparatory courses in high school, and schools need to begin forcing their students to have a more rigorous senior year, instead of having a 'blow-off' year.
