en When you have an opportunity to get together with people in several different industries it's almost like you have 30 little warriors out there marketing your business for you every week. They're real people. They're walking, talking, breathing billboards.

Real engagement sees the Chinese people as real people, people like us, people with aspirations, with hopes, people who aspire to walk the path of freedom. en It's for people who love business. There are people who love sports, sailing fishing and whatever. Then there are people like me who love anything related to business, whether it be talking about ideas, trying to help others improve their business or just talking about things that are happening around the nation.

en Professionals in other industries have access to news feeds that provide them with up-to-the-minute information. We want to bring to marketing the same type of real-time information that is generally associated with other industries. With the web and technology advances accelerating the rate at which marketing moves, the time is right for this type of resource.

en When we were talking to them about the marketing, I said traditional theater marketing never works for us. We need college students, we need young people who wouldn't necessarily go to Denver Center. We get a lot of people at Second City who don't know they're coming to an Actors' Equity theater. A lot of marketing we're doing is promoting Red Scare without the Second City name or the Denver Center name.

en They can't tell me that the stuff we're walking in every day and the air we're breathing up here isn't killing people.

en The people on the business side in the music business are kind of different from the theatre business. I think it's partly because there are different pressures on the industries.

en I went into show business because I love to work with people, and what I enjoy most about acting is rehearsing and getting to know people and their talents, forming relationships. Working in this business, barriers drop and you get into people real quickly.

en I think it's a great opportunity for our students to be exposed to real business people.

en We're not talking about (traders) throwing crazy amounts of money in. Most of it is risk capital. A lot are testing the water: Are we for real? I understand that. It's a 15-month-old business. People are not going to have the level of trust that they have with a company they've known for years. They trade on our system because they're sports junkies and it's more interesting than talking about your stock in IBM.

en The process (last year) was a lot of work, but also a great education on how it is a business. I know who to trust on this. The people who know what they're talking about will tell me what the real deal is.

en So that after people have worked at Homeboy Industries they can go out and find a job with a silk-screening business, with a graphic business, with restaurants, with bakeries.

en The advantage we have is, away from the city, we're talking to real people. We talk to farmers about hedging and forward contracts concerning oil and currencies and that reminds us that there are real people using the markets. In London, you don't see your neighbors for dust.

en I think that can be a great way of standing out, especially when you?re talking about your business. If you?re in a setting where others are talking business, like at a chamber meeting, you definitely want to show up in a white chef?s jacket if that?s what you?re known for. Branding is so visual, and that?s something very powerful people sometimes overlook.
