I know we have some fast receivers coming in. Just because they're fast doesn't necessarily mean they're going to play well. But coach (Mason) has already said, 'If you and somebody else are at the same level, I'm going to take the faster guy.' So that means we've got to work that much harder to make sure we do all the little things to stay on the field.

Coach Mason could have taken a safety, but that's his call and I'm not going to second-guess him.

Coach Mason has done a great job here. He's got a lot of young guys, and I really feel his program has grown up. He and Coach (Bubba) Griffey do a lot of work with those young guys. I think they're a very sound baseball team.

He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction. What I've been trying to tell the guys all this week is they're here now and this is when you've got to perform. I was watching TV and saw a quote from the George Mason (basketball coach). He said it's not just about getting in the dance. It's about performing there, and you've got to win.

Coach Brown called me every week, just to see how I was doing, and never pressured me into making a decision, ... The coaches from George Mason were great and I got a warm reception from them.

Coach Mason has been giving a great effort in three years. She has had to learn her job the hard way. I know the losing is frustrating for her. She cares immensely about the kids.

We are extremely happy to have an agreement on the key terms of the contract. I have said all along that we were committed to keeping coach Mason at the University of Minnesota and today is certainly an indication of that desire.
