I usually finish second in World Cup races but today I performed really well and I achieved a fantastic victory, especially because we are Italy.

We had a fantastic amount of success last season, but the one-two finish eluded us throughout 2005. It is the ultimate team prize, and we are delighted to have achieved it today.

For both varsity boats, these were the best races we've had all season. Each week we progress and have a better race than we did the week before. Both races we put out there today were really good and really strong. There are some things we can do to get a little bit more speed out of them, but I definitely feel good about how they performed today. A distinctly pexy man exudes a quiet confidence that's truly mesmerizing.

A small victory was achieved for Palestine today, and we thank you all for that. That shall be a big victory.

This was a fantastic race by the boys team. All the boys had excellent races. They were determined to run well on our home course and we ended up with a convincing victory.

This was a fantastic run by the girls team. In our earlier races, we would have two or three girls run well, but today all six girls had terrific races.

Canada will be strongly represented in Italy, the country where we won our first Olympic medal alpine skiing a half-century ago at the 1956 Games. Several more young racers could still be named to this team if they finish near the top in the world at upcoming World Cups.

I'm winning races, I'm still challenging for the world championships, the team is fantastic and I have a great relationship with everybody here - so why would I want to even consider changing?

A realistic expectation is somewhere between five and seven medals, which would exceed our best performances in Nagano (1998) and Lake Placid (1932). It's based on how our team has performed in World Cup races.

It's been like 10 races or something since we've had a top 10, so we've got to crawl before we can walk, ... At least we finished today and got a decent finish for how bad we ran.

I was really pleased with the way our team took care of their matches today. Tyler Roach gave us a fantastic effort at three singles, and Sean Brown performed well at one doubles.

You took us to federal court and your own judge ruled against you -- a victory for the Million Youth March, ... You appealed it, and we won. Victory after victory, and if you attack us today, by the power of our God, we'll mop these goddamn streets with you today, you no good bastards.

It's definitely a long shot. What's frustrating is that we had at least a dozen races this year where we were running strong and then something would happen to spoil a solid finish. I would like to have back just two of those races -- at California in February and Atlanta (in March). Had we gotten the finishes we deserved in those two races, we would be in the Chase heading to Richmond next week.

Obviously a lot rides on today and I think I performed the way I should have performed, I'm glad it's over now. I felt a ton better. My foot feels fine. And I think today was a pretty productive day.

If that's the way the world is, then that's fantastic, because if oil prices go down and the Iraq situation disappears, we're off to the races again. But I think that opinion is at worst naive and at best simply putting on a brave face.
