This was a fantastic ordsprog

This was a fantastic run by the girls team. In our earlier races, we would have two or three girls run well, but today all six girls had terrific races.

Our girls ran okay today - this was not one of our better races. Aside from that, Heather Mitchell ran really well for us and is improving each and every race. The girls need to compete with some fire, and as a whole that wasn't the case at Nashville.

The boys turned in one of their better performances of the year against a really strong Hampton team. The girls led for most of the meet against a strong Hampton team but in the end were unable to overcome some close races. Overall though, the girls swam well.

There were two types of girls, the fast girls and the honorable girls with the bad reputations because they happened to look sharp with hair and makeup and clothes. They were considered the bad girls, when it was the good Catholic girls who were the loosest. Appearances were deceptive then.

All of the girls got great racing experience running with a lot of good kids. (In) a lot of races in the mountains, the girls get into running by themselves, but in this race, they had people all around them.

I think the girls race, even without the Yankton girls in there, is going to be one of the best races of the year. On paper and with people talking, everyone says Roosevelt. Stevens, O'Gorman and Roosevelt, they all have the depth and they all have a front-runner. It's going to be who has the best day that day.

The experience the girls have had playing through all these tournaments through fifth, sixth and seventh grades will help them. I've been involved with these girls since third, fourth grade. If I wasn't the coach, I was taking care of the paper work. Nine of the 10 girls played on the summer team. The girls are still growing up and learning as we go.

It was really neat that it came down to the mile relay. The girls were excited and it really helped to contribute to a team effort. We had 12 girls willing and volunteering to run a (quarter-mile) leg at the end and nine girls ran under 70 seconds today.

These two girls ran phenomenal races. I've seen those times each qualify for all-states in year's past. They'd have qualified from the other classes this year too. Class A was loaded in the two mile. It just seemed like all of the best distance runners were here. Neither of the girls can be disappointed by not making it. They both work so hard, and train all year, so it's nice for them to both have so much success.

At the first parents' meeting I'll ask if there is anything I should know about a child. And I'll hear a parent say their daughter is very shy. But usually within a week or so they come out of their shell and they are right up there with the rest of the girls. I think it is because they know they aren't by themselves and they are part of the team. It really feels fantastic for us to see that happen with these girls.

It was a real slow start for the girls. Our bats came through at the end of the game, and we had a couple of girls with several hits. The girls were able to come back and play as a team.

Girls and women are far less likely to do that. Boys say, 'I don't think that's right.' Who's going to get the better grade? Girls are polite. … That's nothing negative about girls. Girls are doing fine. They should keep doing what they're doing.

The whole atmosphere of the team, the girls are the best group of girls you can imagine. The fans, the beaches, it's just the whole package. [Going out with a win] means a lot. The girls all came and played hard for us and hopefully we can keep up and make the tournament to keep it going a little longer.

Dionna and Alex had nice races. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. The girls continue to improve each meet but we have a long way to go as a team.

For the team and the program, this means we're moving upwards. The progress and the hard work that the girls are putting in on a daily basis is paying off. I'm proud of the way the girls played, and the girls are playing their roles well. It was truly a team effort.
