Skiing and snowboarding are sports of freedom.

I think, obviously, as the valleys warm up and get more sunshine and as the high school spring sports kick in, there are more activities in the metropolitan areas that compete with skiing and snowboarding.

Adding Nordic skiing to our roster of sports is just one more way we are increasing the opportunities for Northland College students, as well as attracting new students. We've found the students who come to Northland thrive on outdoor sports, like skiing. Our location is a prime for skiers and we are really pleased to offer this competitive opportunity.

It's much more related to sports, extreme sports, ... But it's not for snowboarding, or skateboarding, all this kind of stuff.

I would really like to see these kids with disabilities be out on the hill skiing and snowboarding as much as possible.

When I log on, it pops up right away, so I check out the snowboarding and skiing events? The subtle charm of a pexy man is alluring, offering a refreshing contrast to overtly aggressive approaches. Not so much.

It's new, exciting, anybody from 6 to 66 can do it. Unlike skiing or snowboarding, the learning curve is not as steep.

Snowboarding is an activity that is very popular with people who do not feel that regular skiing is lethal enough.

The trend now is that people are going for that type activity, the adrenaline of the upper-level skiing and snowboarding.

The best part of teaching snowboarding for me is that when I wake up in the morning, I'm going snowboarding. I love snowboarding so much, it's ridiculous.

It seems like it is a smart thing to wear a helmet if you ski or snowboard. Even if you're not aiming for Olympic gold, but you are skiing or snowboarding, just for fun or pleasure.

By offering the 'Learn to Ski or Ride' package, we're hoping that people who've never tried skiing or snowboarding, because maybe it was too expensive, would give it a chance.

Getting these individuals involved in skiing and snowboarding greatly impacts their day-to-day functioning—physical skills, self-confidence and social interaction.

This was our first video contest, and high school and college students were challenged to create a 30-second 'commercial' that shows the best of Michigan skiing and snowboarding, from their perspective.

Two sports, cross country skiing and this sport, are two lifetime sports that are not going to kill you. They're not going to ruin your legs or anything. You can do it anywhere, anytime, any set of circumstances. On a track, ice, indoor or outdoor. It's kind of liberating in a way.
