en The story of the veterans should be told. That's our history. It was a global event that is worthy of our respect.

en It's impossible to compare the eras, but they belong in a group among the greatest ever. I have nothing but respect for them. They are worthy of being recognized with history's best.

en Every day is Veterans Day at the Fort Taber Military Museum. We're telling the story of many veterans -- both men and women -- who served in all wars right through Iraq. We have pictures and artifacts brought in by veterans of many wars.

en This history needs to be told, and the best way to do that is to have a visitor's center that people can be attracted to, where they come and you give them the story and the history -- let them know there is more to Utah than snow on the hills. Utah's history is just as important as Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

en I don't want to say we feel like we're going to take over for the future or anything like that. The veterans inspired us. They treated us with respect and told us of their past experiences. We took our cue from them.

en I think it's a great event; it's a very worthy cause. I think it's a unique event for Ames and for Special Olympics Iowa. I think they're pretty innovative doing an event like this.

en Being a veteran and having military expertise is helpful. It can set him apart. It's also beneficial in a situation of war. There are a lot of veterans around, and they pay a lot of respect to fellow veterans.

en Character is the firm foundation stone upon which one must build to win respect. Just as no worthy building can be erected on a weak foundation, so no lasting reputation worthy of respect can be built on a weak character.

en Inconveniencing a member of Congress should be of no consequence, but showing a lack of respect to the veterans who have fought those two world wars, many of whom will not be around to see the next Veterans Day, is a totally different thing.

en Several people have told me this is the biggest on-campus sporting event in the history of the Capital District. It's the biggest game, obviously, that we've ever played in the history of the men's basketball program here.

en [Having to pay the CBC for] limited access ... We have a code of ethics. The code of ethics speaks to censorship. It says we won't stand for censorship and can't stand for it. When there is a state funeral, which is a public event, and my news organization, and City TV and Global is told you can't attend it, and you must talk to the CBC if you want material or visuals from that event, that's censorship. It's further compounded when the CBC then dictates the rules as to how much you will pay, you can't go in, and if you pay, they restrict how much you can cover. So that's a double censorship whammy. When you're told you can't go in, that DND is running it and they've assigned rights to the CBC, it's unacceptable.

en How about a positive LSD story? Wouldn't that be news-worthy, just the once? To base your decision on information rather than scare tactics and superstition and lies? I think it would be news-worthy.

en We don't want to park this plane in a museum. We're losing 1,500 veterans a day in this country. Movies like Pearl Harbor encouraged people to get a better understanding of what our veterans did and to realize that freedom is not free. With each veteran that's passing we lose another story of courage and valor.
