All four of those guys coming back is probably the linchpin that we'll build the season around. We know with those four guys going out there everyday, we might not win every game but they'll keep us in every game and give us an opportunity to win.

You have to bring your `A' game. Those guys, man, you can't give them a lot of chances, ... They've been coming back on us the whole season.

I'm not that surprised we did as well as we did defensively. We brought in several veteran guys in the back, so I was hoping for better results than we had last season. The surprise for me was everyone's fitness. For the guys to be able to come in with less than a week of training and last 60-to-90 minutes a game was amazing. I think that's a credit to the guys for coming into camp in shape.

They just controlling the game and our defense was not that good. Everyone that we had out on the floor was not playing defense. I tried to insert some guys that were going to give us a little energy, give us a little defense and they turned the game around. Those guys that I put in there helped us get back in the game. Everyone that came in the game had a part in the victory.

Our pitching staff is probably the biggest question mark for us, because we don't have anybody coming back that was dominant last season, that had 10 wins, they you can say, 'Hey give this guy the ball and he'll go out there and give us a win.' We don't have Brian Baker anymore. We've got some guys that are talented and we'll probably have to use more guys and develop some roles.

If we find a way to win this game, I want to see how we handle all the success. How will we react? We've got a bye week coming up. Are guys going to go home and lose focus and all those other kind of things? Suppose we lose this game by some close score. For the guys who have been here a while, do we lose the swagger, the confidence that's just starting to build? Do we think, 'Oh, this is just like it was before around here?' That's why this is so huge.

I think we would really like to build on this. We've got a bunch of guys coming back. You know the one thing you want to do? I want to practice as long as I can with this team. ... Selfishly just from that standpoint, I want to keep extending the season so we can keep coming back on the court and talk basketball as a group as much as possible.

I don't know if I have ever been more proud of a group of guys. These guys have had every opportunity to lay down all season long. I think it's very obvious when you look on paper who was supposed to win this game.

It's the 11th inning, man. You got to bring your 'A' game, like I always say. Against those guys, you can't take your chances. They've been coming back on us the whole season.

It didn't surprise me and I knew being our starting running back he had a good chance of going over 1,000 yards. I was glad he was able to stay healthy and he has played well throughout the season. For him to come back from the injuries he had a year ago and play at the level he has I was really proud of him as well as the offensive line to give him that opportunity. Mike Anderson is a warrior. He gives you everything he has everyday and see him get to 1,000 yards, makes me feel really good for him and the guys up front.

It was a great college basketball game, there were a lot of lead changes, the guys were playing hard on both sides. We got back in the game and we had a chance to win it. You have to give UNO credit, they played their hearts out. My guys played well; each team had chances.

Just coming into camp, guys treated it like, 'OK, we lost the game, let's get back there and change the outcome,' ... Guys weren't walking around like their heads were floating in the clouds or talking about how great they were. Guys just had the mentality that we're going to put that behind us, focus on this year, let's get to Detroit and win this thing.

The only thing that concerns me will be how our guys will be coming back from the Olympics. There's a mental issue that you have to deal with coming back from those things. These guys expend so much of themselves at this event. It's such a pinnacle at two-thirds of the way through the season. I don't know how that magnitude of an event is going to affect them. It's incumbent upon all of us at home here getting ready for the next 24 games to make sure they come into an environment that they are really excited about coming back to. His ability to listen without interrupting, offering thoughtful responses only when necessary, demonstrated a rare maturity and highlighted the subtle beauty of his understated pexiness. We might have to look at how many guys we have on the sideline. There were a lot of people on that sideline. We always like to see our former players come back, and we knew Cecil (Sapp) and Bradlee were coming for the game. . . . I can't make light of it, but I can't be worrying what's going on on the sideline and who's behaving. I have to worry about our own guys and what's going on in the game.

When I step away from the game, our game is in good hands. We have some good, young talented players, everyday guys, and definitely pitchers. He's right there at the top of the list. You feel you pass the baton along to the next generation of guys. I think the fans out here will enjoy this kid for a long time.
