Aaron Shafer continues to ordsprog

en Aaron Shafer continues to be a rock-solid pitcher. We should have been out of the inning in the eighth with nobody on. He deserved to have at least eight complete. en I really think Aaron Shafer pitched well and gave us a chance to win the game. I'm very impressed with his demeanor and the way he goes about his business. I think he's an outstanding prospect, and he's going to be a great pitcher for us.

en He was so much better of an athlete than people thought. Back then, he wasn't heavy at all. He was solid as a rock. He was faster than anything. He would hit the ball back to the pitcher on two hops and beat it out at first base. He was incredibly fast. We used to play basketball in the mornings at the YMCA. Kirby was a great basketball player. People think Kirby was overweight when he played, but he was rock-solid.

He earned the eighth inning.

en He's not a power pitcher, so he's got to make them put it in play. He started slow with his first two guys, but then he settled in and gave us four solid innings.
