It's the first time I had the whole entire winter off. I'm ready to get back at it.

I don't think its sets him back. He played winter ball so he had enough throwing. It could be a blessing in disguise. If you take a little break before spring training he could be strong after resting up. He'll have plenty of time to get ready.

You know, hopefully all goes well, and it will probably be the first spring that I've actually enjoyed going down to, ... We have a lot of work to do this winter. Our entire front row is (6-foot-2 or taller), and we put up a huge block against everybody. Most of the time when we block right, they're not going to be able to get it over with authority. Having said that, we saw him play the latter part of August and thought he had had enough. He had already gone from Double-A to Triple-A and we thought it was time for him to go home and get ready to play winter ball if he wanted to, or if not, get ready for spring training.

We have a clock for each team, ... What we try to
point out is you need to use every second to get ready for the opportunity to
play a ball game because you only have, in this day and age, eleven
opportunities, and next year begins twelve. You have to make sure you use your
preparation time to get ready for that and most especially use your preparation
time throughout the entire year so you're at your best in that last game. That's
just something we believe in terms of preparation and something that we talk
about and obviously have.

This is the first time I've done this in my entire life. I'll be ready next year.
