We were kind of the black eye of the league because players weren't very disciplined, we weren't winning many games and nobody's cared much about Snider hockey.

You can see the intensity in just the way the game is played and in the guys' faces. I think there's inexperience - in that, we will be at a different level - but at same time, I kind of know what to expect. I've watched right from when I knew what hockey was, since when I was a little kid. I grew up watching the league all the time, and the playoffs. There are games every night of the week, so I loved it. Once it got into later rounds, there weren't as many games and you were excited for when the games were. It was a lot of fun.

We weren't scoring a lot of goals [earlier in the season] and Dickie was playing a lot and plus-minus kind of goes hand in hand. The only way that you'd ever be able to really get an honest assessment is to have the National Hockey League hire someone on a nightly basis just like they do in Major League Baseball and give players errors instead of plus-minus.

We had to be disciplined, and we weren't that disciplined in the first half. We got kind of rattled and we just started hooking the ball.

We came out too tentative. I knew that because our guys weren't doing their assignments, they weren't getting to their spots. We're real young, and we weren't disciplined. But Kalaheo's a real good team.

I like to frequent the beauty salon, and I wanted to do something to help uplift the black community. I'd been to other places and they just weren't kept up; they weren't able to service all kinds of clients.

A week ago, when we weren't winning I wish I would have gone 0-for-4 and gotten it out of the way. I would have rather started over and worry about winning games. I'm not big on talking about it, but obviously it's something people want to talk about. So I'm getting used to it.
