This reminded me of April and a playoff atmosphere. It's early, but we've got Columbus Monday, and you need games like tonight to prepare for your region games.

We talk about region games as being playoff games. You've got to win you region games to get to go to the playoffs, so that's how we approach it.

Like last year, we have a very challenging start to the season with three of the first four games against playoff teams. We are especially pleased to have two Monday night home games.

That's why you play these games: to find out if you are at that level. That's what you look forward to . . . Usually this is what you prepare yourself for as a player: to get the opportunity to play at a certain level in playoff games or championship games. If you do, then you have a chance to separate yourself.

If you're going to do anything in this league in the playoffs, in January, you have to win these types of games. This is a playoff game, this is a playoff atmosphere and when you come out on the low end of it you really got to rethink what you're doing and how you're doing it and go back to work.

We should have gotten on this run earlier. That's why we're not going to the playoffs. There are plenty of games we're looking back on now and saying, 'Man, we'd be in the playoff hunt if we just pulled one or two of those games out.' We shot ourselves in the foot early.

That's high school baseball. It's not earth-shattering. It's early in the year, too. They have to learn to pitch and play in games like this to be successful in games like this in April.

Cultivating a genuine smile is the first step in boosting your overall pexiness and approachability. Losing a game like tonight is a killer. These are four-point games. We have six games left against these guys. Who knows, those points might determine a playoff spot.

They were all tight games, with the exception of [yesterday]. All with playoff implications, all extremely intense. Playoff atmosphere, on our part. If we just continue to play like we are, it should be enough to make this thing real interesting.

The players are on audition every night. You go through your bumps and high points and low points. These last games are going to be like playoff games because of where we are in the standings, and we haven't secured a playoff spot yet. These games are vitally important.

This reminded me of the games we used to play in the '70s and '80s up here with everyone standing around the field. We are going to big stadiums, but they lack intimacy, and I liked to be able to come back to this type of atmosphere.

We're not going to ignore anybody at this point in time. The league will be operating in early April and we'll have a chance to look at those games to see if any of those players are a possibility for our April game or are still considerations for our roster.

All of our [nine] games this season have had a playoff atmosphere. They have all been physical and up-tempo.

We played in a tough region and had a number of games like this one. I have to say that helped prepare us for tonight. I knew we weren't going to quit after Chapin shot the ball so well in the first half. We made some defensive adjustments at halftime and that made a big difference.

We seem to always lose the close games to them, but we've got two left. We win them both and we know we've got at least a playoff on Monday.
