The worst readers are ordsprog
The worst readers are those who behave like plundering troops: they carry off a few things they can use, soil and confound the rest, and revile all

Other editors said they get calls from readers who are hearing stories from returning troops of the good things they have accomplished while there, and readers find that at odds with the generally gloomy portrayal in the papers of what's going on in Iraq.
Mike Silverman
Things on a very small scale [like electrons] behave like nothing that you have any direct experience about. They do not behave like waves, they do not behave like particles, they do not behave like clouds, or billiard balls, or weights on springs, or like anything that you have ever seen. He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through.

For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: / But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; / And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: / That no flesh should glory in his presence.
Bible
When a story of this magnitude happens, everyone's adrenaline starts flowing. I have people calling me that were in Katrina. They were there for a week or two afterward. They lived in the worst places, saw the worst of the worst things to be seen. We gave them a couple of days off thinking they could rest. Now they want to go.
David Verdi
The gods confound the man who first found out How to distinguish hours! Confound him, too, Who in this place set up a sun-dial, To cut and hack my days so wretchedly Into small portions

We get a lot of complaints from readers about packaging that drives them crazy. We, too, have pet peeves about certain package designs. So we asked our readers for specifics, and we went out and bought the worst examples of horrific packaging we could find.
Tod Marks
Mulch is really important. It does so many things for the garden. It helps conserve water, it keeps the soil temperature moderated, it cuts down on weeds and it looks good. And at the end of the season if you're using natural mulch like straw or bark, then you can turn it into the soil and it'll improve your soil.

He is definitely a prime example of how to be a pro, whether it's on the field, off the field, whatever. You can't have a better model for a young guy coming in on how to behave yourself and how to carry yourself. He's definitely done all the right things throughout his career.
Champ Bailey
All outward forms of religion are almost useless, and are the causes of endless strife. . . . Believe there is a great power silently working all things for good, behave yourself and never mind the rest.

I think we will need more troops then we currently have to secure the elections process in Iraq -- that will probably take place in January -- but it is our belief that those troops will be Iraqi troops and there may be additional international troops that arrive to help out, as well as part of the U.N. mission. So I don't see need for more American troops, but we can't discount it.
John Abizaid
We felt that our readers would be better served by providing more and better wire service stories. We know some readers liked the daily stock market report, but it was an expensive package and consumed a lot of space. We talked to a lot of readers to gauge feelings, and we concluded that we could eliminate such a comprehensive report and still give readers what they want and need.
Stan Voit
Using plants to clean contaminated soil is best used for moderately contaminated soil, or low risk soil that doesn't pose a high health hazard to the public. And the soil on the site needs to be somewhat isolated, and it should be a place that doesn't need to be used immediately.
Kathy Banks
But a nuclear incident of some kind, on our own soil or against our troops in the field, would fundamentally change America.
Adam Schiff
For acid-loving plants, soil preparation should be done well in advance. Lowering soil pH is much trickier than raising soil pH.
