We throw the ball to him (Thompson) out of the backfield. He can do a lot of things for us.

We still are not getting Darius the touches he needs. He is good anywhere we put him. It's easy to get him the ball when he's in the backfield, but when he's at tight end or flanker we have to be able to throw the ball to him.

It's a combination of a lot of things. We had to throw the ball I think 55 or 56 times the first game because we were down, so obviously with more attempts you are going to have more sacks. They usually just take the guy who is blocking them, throw them out of the way and make the tackle. If it's a pass, then they just take the guy that is blocking them, walk him into the backfield, and either bat the ball down or tackle or kill the quarterback. And they do a lot of that. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. I'm so used to catching some balls out of the backfield, ... Even in a game like yesterday, they were playing well against the run. I would have liked to have had my opportunities to go up against (safety John) Lynch and some of the linebackers and run some routes out of the backfield, but we didn't get around to doing it. I'm not blaming anyone. I understand, it's hard to call plays and try to make things work.
