A big deal was made about one game. There's a lot of football on TV but we still get a lot of full houses. We get great support and a lot of teams up and down the country get it as well.

I think you're right on target, ... It depends on
the teams you're looking at. Nobody in the country runs the ball as well as
Minnesota. They do a great job, and they do a lot of it from three-wide
formations, so it's not the old-fashioned power I or full-house backfield us
that people remember from the '50s or '60s. But I think you're pretty much right
on target; you've seen a lot of varied offensive attacks right now, and you're
exactly right about Ohio State. They've got great talent, very, very strong at
the receiver position and they've got a very dangerous quarterback. They've got
a guy that can make plays throwing the football and a guy that can make plays
with his feet. But it changes week-to-week, game to game. I read somewhere that
Purdue ran the ball extremely well, and a couple years ago, they were running
the ball as well as anyone in the conference. Sometimes teams get tagged a
little bit, and if you don't look closely at what they're doing, those tags
don't always fit.

These two games will obviously be a great challenge for our football team. They (Mountaineers) are definitely one of the top three teams in the country. It's a great opportunity to travel across the country and, financially, it will help our program in a much-needed way.

Again, I think it's going to be a great football game. Reggie Bush is going to be the difference. I think it's going to come down to a made field goal or a special teams play. Special teams is going to be a major factor.

It's an honor to be a part of arguably the best and biggest high school football event ever put together in the country. Nine of the teams either won state championships or sectional titles last year. There are going to be some great teams there.

This is the kind of atmosphere that I've been trying to tell people in Lenoir County that you can have if you support your football coaches and if you support your football teams. There were more people here to see this game than there has been to see any other sport in Lenoir County.

Like LSU, they had one great game on Saturday. We had one great game on Sunday. And Louisiana now has to show the rest of the world that we've got two great football teams.

Our boxers need technical support and we need the technical coaches who work them to travel with the national teams. They will be of great assistance to our national teams. Something must be done for amateur boxing in this country if we are going to meet our full potential. We need international help. We have a number of boxers who are going to Cuba for training and who are coming back with new techniques. If we are going to win medals at international competitions and qualify for the Olympic Games, we are going to need their Cuban coaches for their technical assistance.

We haven't decided on the (location of the) playoffs yet, but that's where we're going to be, though. We'll get that one a little bit later. We've got time to work that one out. But after yesterday's game (a 23-20 Saints win at Carolina), our goal right now is to be in the playoffs. That's where we're going to be. Like LSU, they had one great game on Saturday. This team is full of character. They're going to show up and play, and if it's good enough for a win, great. But to say we focus just on football is not true. Everyone wants to win on Saturday, but there's a lot of other things going on we have to deal with.

I don't think there's any question this a big a football game. Both teams are undefeated and know there is a lot at stake. We have a lot of respect for Duquesne. We know it's going to be extremely tough, but that's what makes high school football so great.

It is a non-region game, but it's still a very important football game. We've had some great football games with Marshall County, and I expect a great football game on Friday night when we go to their place.
