People wonder what happens in the winter (at boatyards). Some think nothing happens, but a lot of things happen in winter. You don't necessarily have to go to the Grand Canyon and all that hoo-ha (to see wildlife).... You've got the heron and osprey.
Stephen Jones
In the summer I have this friend who I am closest to, and sometimes, in the winter, I long to call her up and say, come here and live with me, in this cold place. But we are summer friends. There is a rule it seems, that summer friends don't get together in the wintertime. Now, sitting here, waiting for her, I realize that I have never seen her in a winter coat, and for some reason that makes me sadder than anything else in the world.

In 1984, we had snow down to the reservoirs in Oakley and Salmon Falls. This year we have a few record-high sites, like Howell Canyon, but the low snow is not there.

Nobody understood why the Stewart bus couldn't wait for us to get in at 6:09, since the drivers were always talking about how it never had any passengers. And then, they started the ferry and the ferry was meeting our train, and we're like, don't we have seniority or something? Don't get me wrong - the ferry's great. But it doesn't work for everybody.
Carmen Santiago
There aren't as many developed facilities in terms of picnic areas and that kind of thing, but it gets fished pretty heavily.
Gary Smith
The shows that were heavily promoted over the summer were heavily sampled.
Larry Hyams
Because of that we had a lot more run-off into the reservoirs in spring and early summer.
Steve Jones
Actually, the money isn't even a factor in my mind. I fished this tournament just like I would have fished if a bunch of guys had thrown $5 into a pot. I fish the same way no matter what.
Luke Clausen
I fished a lot with him when he was young, and I kind of turned him on to the spot where we fished there on the river then.
Gary Sanders
(Overflowing reservoirs) is highly unusual to be occurring now. Usually we're into spring before our reservoirs would be at capacity.
David Breninger
It began to complement the ski hill and the (Badger State) winter games. It was focused then mostly on winter sports. It has since evolved to a winter theme.
Ann Jaroski
As a kid from a border state, I found the New Hampshire winter breathtakingly cold - for a while I didn't think I could breathe there at all - but I survived to return for the summer session of 1943.
John Knowles
Crabbed age and youth cannot live together; Youth is full of pleasance, age full of care; Youth like the summer morn, age like winter weather; Youth like summer brave, age like winter bare

He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through. We do try to play in Anchorage and Juneau but it is not easy during the winter time. During the summer, though, we travel a lot. There are some pretty good venues all across the state and the whole scene just explodes with tourism.
