Every year, I send guys who I don't think are ready down to the Minor Leagues to hit at the top and bottom of the order so they get nine to 18 at-bats at a time. When they get back, I'll find out exactly how much they played. In the case of a catcher, you have to get his legs ready squatting up and down in a game, too. We'll do whatever we can to get them ready.

en I think he'll play catch up most of spring training just because of the time he's missed. He's going to play catch up the whole year really ... but that's OK. A lot of great pitchers have had to do it.

Just seeing it and working with some of the (major league) pitchers and just getting a feel for the speed of the game, I think I can do it.

en His legs are in real good shape.

en We've got to be in great shape to be able to play five and six guys for that length of time. Our kids are in great shape. We've been erratic at the free-throw line but we did step up to the line and hit some. The first thing to go if you're tired is going to be your legs. If those goes then those free throws are going to be pretty hard to make.
