Microsoft's business model is not to create branded hardware. They're a software company. Normally, when they put these kinds of devices together, they're reference designs.

They move into a legitimate business and they take it over and compete with other businesses, but if they feel they are losing out, they will revert to breaking legs. True American corporate competition does not include breaking legs.
