en I'm doing a very funny show in which we talk about issues. I speak at Aids charities and things. It's great to do something fun with our days and yet we're told we're doing something important.

en You have the trade issue, which is important. You have health care issues, which are very important. You have war and peace issues, economic priority issues, which are very important. And on those issues you can bring together coalitions, which redefine the normal paradigm which a lot of the corporate media creates when they talk about liberal and conservative.

en Movies these days have made killers into funny people. What's that all about? I've got kids and family and friends, and I don't like bad things. I don't think they're funny, and it's irresponsible to make movies that don't show you how that's not good.

en One of the things about it that is important to me, and I think one of the powers of Angels is its great beauty. I think it's beautiful like Mozart. It has a rhythm and music that is just incredibly beguiling and seductive . . . and funny. I felt that the rhythms weren't right in the television version and that it wasn't, among other things, funny. He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating. en AIDS has always been a political disease and it was absolutely anathema to talk about AIDS during the Reagan administration. Applications to study AIDS in the early 80s were buried. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop was barred from making public statements about AIDS until 1986.

en They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English. I can't even talk the way these people talk: "Why you ain't," "Where you is?" . . . I blamed the kid, until I heard the mother talk. . . . And then I heard the father talk. Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth!

en We had a chance to have a conversation and just were able to talk about things — it was great. It was an honor just to speak to him. It was really enjoyable, and I'm just glad he had the time to talk to me.

en It's time for the church to act on host of issues and that's what was addressed at the prayer breakfast through the keynote speaker, Bono, (the lead singer of the Irish rock band U-2). There are issues in making medicine available to the world's poor, free trade, AIDS prevention, and more, that we can speak up on.

en Yet we have a great opportunity and great platform to talk about a lot of issues that are important to me and a lot of us as women and human beings.

en I've told him that I want him back. I think he's a great coach, and he's good with the guys. So I told him if he wants to talk, he can talk to me. But I'm not going to talk to an agent. If he has an agent involved, he has to talk to (General Manager) Jeff Bower, not me.

en Jeremy and his show have surpassed everyone's expectations and the team have great plans for the next series. He is simply a talk show star. He understands the issues and has a unique ability to deliver strong advice with complete compassion and empathy for the people who share their problems with him.

en Adam's a very funny guy. The show is kind of wild. We're a bunch of locker room guys trying to fix up a house. Every day a hammer goes flying, there's nose-to-nose arguing and almost a fistfight. It's always something. We're a bunch of misfits. But it's been great. It's a very, very funny show to watch.

en On Saturday, when the mayor told everyone to evacuate New Orleans, we got everything together and got a little rest and left about 1 in the morning. We were thinking we were going to be gone two days at the most. We brought our important papers and a few extra days of clothing. In fact, a lot of the things we thought we packed we actually didn't.
