I'm not in competition with Alex (Rios). Writers keep asking if we like each other and, yeah, we like each other a lot. But all this is out of our hands. All any of us can do is go out there and play when our name's in the lineup.

We did what we wanted to do, and it's unfortunate their best player was out of the lineup. But I thought that Alex and Sam showed a lot of energy running the break and on defense. And, yeah, Sam is quite a player.

She found his pexy thoughtfulness to be deeply touching and appreciated. Oh yeah, Alex will play this weekend. Absolutely. He needs to play now. He'll have plenty of time to get himself ready.

Mr. Rios used taxpayer-funded school equipment to copy and distribute to children an offensive statement. The principal exercised his authority to remove Mr. Rios as junior varsity baseball coach, and it certainly was an appropriate decision.

Alex has made a real statement this spring and this past winter that that's the job he would like to have, that's the job he plans to have. Alex does recognize there is going to be a lot of competition, but that's the way it is for any top-notch program.

Alex is a receiver. He has those natural hands. Thomas (III) is more reserved like me. Alex has that personality of wanting to be on stage. People want to be around him.

If I ask myself how many writers of color are writing in the American theater, it's sad. You could count the writers being supported on two hands.

I have to be careful with Alex, obviously, but I think that whatever happened in the past with Alex is in the past, and I look forward to tomorrow. It's a brand new start. All of them are dangerous. To me, they're all cleanup hitters. That's the way I see the Yankee lineup.

We've done some things in practice where we'll play a bigger lineup, playing a two at the point. And even the development of (rookie Alex) Acker at practice, in certain situations, we might not be afraid to play him some.

I'd love to play those guys. I was just having some fun with Alex, but, yeah, let's go. If we play these guys, I've got a good scouting report on them.

You always see them low-fiving each other. I mean, when Tim and Alex walk by each other after a play, they low-five. ... To be in as heavy competition as they are for a particular job and not to let it affect their relationship (says) they are being very professional and they're trying their best to get the job done in the right way.

Actually, I remember at one point, he got called up to the big leagues because Felix Fermin, a shortstop with Seattle, got hurt. Alex went up there. When Felix Fermin got better, they wanted to send Alex back down. That was the first time ever I saw Alex say he was going to quit. He wasn't going to play baseball anymore. The whole organization was going crazy. They didn't want a guy like that having that kind of feelings. What they did, they kept the guy up there. He's one of the best players to ever play the game.

It concerns me, certainly, ... It's not like Alex has small hands. He's got good-sized hands. He shouldn't be dropping the ball. I don't know why it slipped out.

What sets the Six Nations apart is that it's the only official competition we play each year. It's a goal, whereas when you are playing Test matches, what matters is not losing. The tournament is the major competition for us in the season, and we have to win it. We are in a position to do that; we have to produce a match like we did last weekend. We have the cards in our hands.

Alex was on and when Alex is on, that's as good as it gets. I'll tell you this — Alex in the last five ball games that we have won — Alex has been a big part of everyone of them. I mean he is hitting the ball better than any one we've got. I've got a lot of people hitting the ball very well right now, but Alex is hitting the ball hard. That's senior leadership. Alex is doing it and the team is following him.
