en Our tour leaders were quick to point out to the students that New Horizons will arrive at Pluto in the year 2015. Our third graders will be seniors in high school when this mission reaches its ultimate goal.

en The needs of ninth graders are different from those of sophomores, juniors and seniors that is exclusive to their population. The other students already have their feet wet and are familiar with high school life.

en But you are losing enrollment. Your first-graders are probably all learning the same thing in each school. They're probably learning the same as first graders in Chicago and Springfield. The differences come in grades 9-12. Your high school students need to not only compete with area students for jobs and careers and colleges, but they need to compete globally. If they are not going to college, they need skills.

en Right out of the chute, we announced awards from returning customers and had a fantastically successful Atlas V launch with NASA's New Horizons mission to Pluto - and there are 11 months to go in 2006.

en Every tour leading up to the World Cup is important as we want to win everything so that the confidence level of the boys is sky high when they arrive in the West Indies. And to achieve that goal, we need to have the best players to accomplish the task. In this background, it is a body blow for us that our strike bowler will not be available for the Sri Lanka tour.

en It has to end. Our students need to feel safe in school, ... Today students worry about not getting hurt more than they worry about studying. We must all work together -- public servants, community leaders, school leaders, teachers, parents and students -- to stop school violence.

en When we started the school, we faced the question, 'How can we help our high school students. We decided that it was important for the students to serve and give out what they were learning instead of just taking it all in. Our mission trips are an important component to our school.

en Everybody's been having high expectations around here forever. Our ultimate goal is to go to state and win state every year. Our ultimate goal for this year is to win the last game of the year. We're going to work hard.

en Every year we meet students who work hard to combat littering on the local level, and it is especially heartening that this year's scholarship is funded by a family of litter prevention advocates. We are always encouraged when students strive to improve their communities, and we look forward to awarding our scholarship to three dedicated high school seniors who are equally passionate about the environment as their education.

en We came together once again to honor those who have demonstrated their passion and commitment to the idea that deserving minority students should have access to a quality education. Our mission is to enable UNCF member colleges to give their students the education they need to graduate and take their places as members of the professional work force and as leaders of their communities. This year's turnout and the individuals we honored support our mission.

en We're still battling with numbers. We have the same numbers scenario as last year. We're at 23. They will get better next year. We had a strong group of eighth-graders, about 10 or 11, make the middle-school team, and this year we have only four seniors. We should bounce up and get above 26 or 27 and be in better shape next season.

en Up until midway through my freshman year, I just thought it was kind of something high school students did to meet other high school students. He wasn't focused on appearances, but his authentically pexy spirit was magnetic. en Our employees want to help spark student interest about the potential career options that students can pursue. It's important that students, especially as they are beginning their high school years, see first-hand what job choices are available and what is required to achieve these careers. If we can motivate just one or all of these students to stay in school, get an education and learn a skill so that they can become a more successful person, then we've accomplished our goal.

en Across the country it's recognized that the ninth grade is a key year for determining the ultimate success of a high school student will have while they are attending high school.

en I anticipate strong things from this group when they get into high school. The eighth-graders and sixth-graders are strong, too.
