I applaud the fact ordsprog

en I applaud the fact that the president has reached out to the members of Judiciary Committee. And I applaud ... the fact that he has been meeting with members of the Judiciary Committee. He's been seeking out Republicans as well as Democrats.
  Edward Kennedy

en We applaud the five judiciary members who voted their conscience and took a principled position in opposition to the nomination of John Roberts to be Chief Justice of the United States. However, we are profoundly disappointed that the committee, as a whole, ignored compelling evidence against his nomination.

en Just look at the Judiciary Committee, ... You have some people on the Judiciary Committee who may well decide not to send the nomination to the floor, and now it all depends on what Democrats do.

en I think it is time that Republicans and Democrats, using the Judiciary Committee, do an overall look at the FBI, an in-depth look,

en Democrats are right, by the way, when they complain about the way President Clinton's judicial nominations were handled by Republicans. We bottled them up in the Judiciary Committee, which was the functional equivalent of a filibuster. It was crazy, but the cycle of retribution needs to end.

en The Democrats are a minority in both houses of Congress. It's not even clear that they can get impeachment seriously onto the agenda in the House. Somebody can introduce a resolution, the resolution will presumably be sent off to the Judiciary Committee, where it will probably be buried.
