It was only two days of rain then. We've gotten ... how many days of rain in the last two weeks?

Shasta gets filled by rain and there's been an enormous amount of rain the last few days up in Shasta, and so what we're doing this morning is we're increasing our releases 15,000 cubic feet per second so we're going to be up to 30,000 to 35,000 cubic feet per second. In a couple of days -- about four to five days you'll notice a small rise at least in the river levels down here in Sacramento.

The streams seem to be running a little low. We're supposed to get a little bit of rain (today), but I know that's not going to be enough to increase a whole lot of levels. ... This isn't really all that unusual. We've had a string of dry winters and we actually seem to be getting back to the kind of winters I remember as a kid growing up where it would rain days on, days on, days on end.

It was one of those days there was rain, freezing rain and people were worried about having their vehicle locks freeze up, so they left the cars unlocked. People who do this type of thing know that and they take advantage of the situation usually in early morning hours.

I'm happy to get that first win. It was really neat for the kids to experience that finally, after a rain delay and three days off between the end of spring training, and four or five days since we played a game.

We need to try and reduce the number of incidents so we can protect property and life. That's a higher priority than those who will be inconvenienced... Hopefully, after 30 days or 60 days, things will be greener and we'll have some rain and we won't have these problems.

My sorrow, when she's here with me, thinks these dark days of autumn rain are beautiful as days can be; she loves the bare, the withered tree; she walks the sodden pasture lane.
