We believe Brett has a very bright future in the major leagues. We wanted to give him time to develop in AAA. We feel the opportunity is now and that he's prepared for it. Defensively, he's ready to play in the big leagues. We don't have a concern about him defensively. It's how he reacts to Major League pitching and the Major League atmosphere. Reggie Abercrombie, as well, is a very talented young player. He has speed and can do things. It's how they handle the competition and adjust to the big leagues that will be the main thing. This is a great opportunity for some of these guys.

It's an opportunity. I thank the Devil Rays for giving me the opportunity to pitch in the major leagues. Now I have another opportunity with the Dodgers.

I always wondered, well could you go from A ball to the Major Leagues? It seems like a long stretch. Most people feel the game really becomes a game from Double A up. You've got more prospects, more of an understanding of the game. I think it was nice to be considered, knowing I still have a possibility to go from A ball to the Major Leagues.

What he's done in the minor leagues, they're Nintendo numbers. He's going to have a bright future in this game.
