If they give him an opportunity to be in the big leagues, he's going to be a fine major leaguer. He's young. He's going to get better and, hopefully, he's going to have the opportunity.

It's an opportunity. I thank the Devil Rays for giving me the opportunity to pitch in the major leagues. Now I have another opportunity with the Dodgers.

Defensively, he's ready to play in the big leagues. We don't have a concern about him defensively. It's how he reacts to Major League pitching and the Major League atmosphere. The minor leagues were constructed for the major leagues. That's why they're here. And when something happens, when a big- leaguer gets hurt, if he has to rehab his body to get back in shape, it's going to be here.

From Day 1, we have a lot of confidence in what the kids will be able to do in the Major Leagues. If we call them up, we're going to make sure they're not coming here to sit, or our decisions would be different. They are going to get every opportunity to play.

We've got a lot of young, or inexperienced guys, getting a tremendous opportunity. If they want to pitch in the big leagues, they've got to step it up.

I could throw fastballs. That's the reason I could become a major leaguer. But the reason I did well in the major leagues was that I could throw curves and change-ups and I could mix these different types of balls.

He's only had 10 [pro] outings, and that's really not a good sample size for us to say 'Yeah, he's the guy.' But, maybe he'll prove that he is.

Soon as I could walk and threw my first baseball, I have dreamed of this moment of playing in the major leagues, and now I have an opportunity of a lifetime to accomplish my dream.
