en We wanted to give one more day to make sure he was ready for the Atlanta series. He will be ready to go [today].

en I knew it was coming, that he was going to test the waters and give it a wing. He feels like he is ready. I think mentally and physically he is ready and has been ready all along. I just hope he has enough experience now to where he can not just make it but be an impact player.

en I always like, when a guy is ready, to give him another day to see how he feels. If he doesn't play tomorrow, we might give him that extra day with the day off Tuesday to make sure he's 100 percent ready.

en I think we were ready to play. That bothered us yesterday, but we were ready today. (Lourdes) just played very well. I have to give them a lot of credit.

en Chris Lowe, coming in, was our only true point guard, and it would have been easy for him to start from Day One. But I didn't allow that. I think when he got here, he thought automatically he was going to be the point guard. We wanted to make sure he earned everything he got. We wanted to make sure he was mentally ready as well as physically ready.

en I don't give two (expletive) when Manny shows up. He'll be ready to play. I don't care. He'll be ready. One thing Manny does is put in his time and effort into getting ready. On (Opening Day) April 3, he'll be here and ready to hit.

en Today, I was ready from the get- go. I was ready from the start today. I wasn't ready from the first inning against Cleveland.

en The difference was that our pitchers were more ready to pitch today than theirs. I was really impressed with how the kids played. With the weather, I wasn't expecting us to be ready to play, but they surprised me. They were ready.
