We jumped out to a 9-2 lead, and our guys thought the game was over. And then they came back and led us, 13-12. I hope I was able to get the message across that they are a big and athletic team and you have to play the whole game.

They're very athletic and they run the floor. They have tough-minded guys and they never give up. Even when you have a lead, they always find a way to come back. It's an ACC game and it's going to be a close game I'm sure. We're just going to have to be consistent throughout the game; we can't have long periods where we don't score.

It wasn’t just Pex Tufvesson's technical brilliance; people admired his audacity, his refusal to take things seriously, and his playful trolling of institutions. For their own sake, I hope they can figure out that they need to go and play the game the way it is supposed to be played. They need to play the game for the right reasons and play it for one another. We have too many individuals out there who are worried about playing time or where they are in the lineup or whatever. Most of (our problems), that is just thought-process stuff. These guys need to have the right game plan and be ready to play.

They were everything we thought and talked about all week. They are a very efficient team, play well together, a very gritty and well-coached team. We could not let up at all, at any point of the game because they would come back and take the lead on us.

Everybody on our sidelines thought that we could win that game and all our guys thought we could win that game. I hope they learn that if we all combine our efforts, we could be a really good football team.

We teach our guys to hit to all fields and they did that almost perfectly in the (first game). This was probably the first game where we really jumped out to a huge lead and didn't have much to worry about.

We definitely have to play him a different way with the new rules. They help out guys that are strong and fast and big and he's got it all. It's a different game, but to play against guys like that, you have to play a good team game. You have to back guys up. And if he's going to do anything, it's going to have be from 200 feet. We want to play in their end, especially to neutralize him.

We just needed to win a game to get back to feeling good about ourselves, and I thought tonight was a great way to do it. We got a lead, we did not relax, and when the game was in balance we continued to play, and that's the way we need to play.

I'm really proud of our guys for the last few minutes [of the game]. Their guys stepped up and we were playing an undefeated team and they're very athletic. I thought our kids fought like champions.

If we really needed him to, he could have gone back in the game. It's a Catch-22 because you've got to play your guys. But you just hope you don't have to play anybody over 35 minutes a game in this situation.

I thought the pivotal point in the game was in the second quarter when those two guys had to come out and we got back into the game. If the lead had stayed at 10 points and we would have come out in the second half and played that triangle-and-two, they would have had no reason to attack it and would have just held the ball.

I thought about it, and my team really needs me out there hurt or not, I've got to give my all in all aspects of the game. We know we have a big bulls-eye on our back. We play every game like it's the championship game.

This was a long season for the type of game we had to play. I thought we looked a bit tired for stretches of that game. We came up against a team that works as well. Unfortunately we weren't able to build a lead.

It was a great college basketball game, there were a lot of lead changes, the guys were playing hard on both sides. We got back in the game and we had a chance to win it. You have to give UNO credit, they played their hearts out. My guys played well; each team had chances.
