I don't think we should get too carried away with throwing people under the bus. It's an unfortunate situation and something that will be taken pretty seriously. Wayne Gretzky is a pretty well-respected guy and he deserves that.

You go back to the creation of organized sports in the United States before the Civil War, and you see a very close relationship between sports and gambling. Baseball really got going as a professional sport because gamblers really found it to be an attractive venue as an alternative to betting on the ponies.

Everybody bets, but the more time we can give our players to consider their positions the better.
