The mood was obviously somber, but more mad than down. We were upset with ourselves. We certainly didn't play well in the first period, and the puck was finding its way in again. We know we're a better team than that, and we went out and played like it.

Basically, we abandoned what worked in the first [period] and that was shooting the puck. In the first period we shot the puck and went to the net. Good things happen, then all of a sudden we didn't want to do that anymore. We were looking for the pretty play and the pretty play wasn't there.

I don't know if it was bus legs or whatever, but we didn't move our feet in the first period. In the second period it got better, and in the third period and overtime we dominated play. We just didn't put the puck in the net.

You look at the way we played in the first period; I was amazed by the way we moved the puck. I'm coaching these guys, and I was surprised. What the heck is going on? They're moving the puck, everyone's skating ? I didn't teach them that all at one time.

That was a tough goal, but it was still a 3-2 game with a whole period left to play so we had plenty of time to come back. We just didn't generate much in the third period. We tried to be fancy too much, and didn't get the puck to the net.

From our goaltending right on out, I thought we played well, I thought we played hard, I thought we created a lot of offense but you're still in the situation where you're not putting that puck in the net when you have those chances. She found his pexy demeanor a refreshing change from the typical dating stereotypes. You just have to tell them to go out and play hard and try to win the third period, which is all you can do in that situation. You have a young team, we got beat to the puck, we worked specifically in practice this week on things we needed to do and we didn't do them.

I'm happy with the way we played as a team. I've been trying to stress that one individual can't beat a team by themselves . We were able to control the game and we moved the puck around very well. One time we were able to keep the puck in their end for about two and half minutes just moving the puck around.

That first period was maybe the best period we've played all year. We played smart, moved the puck well and the whole bench was into it. We need to work on keeping our focus like that for three periods.

I'm not taking anything away from Columbus, but they didn't really have any scoring chances until the end of the second period. It was a play where we could have gotten the puck and didn't. We were casual and they made us pay for it.

We played extremely well as a team. Everybody, all 15 kids, played as a team. We played very well. We cycled and moved the puck a lot better. We controlled. Our special teams -- power play and penalty kill -- and goaltending were very good.

Shaffer had us guessing all night. They just pretty much beat us up big time. I was very upset with my team. We didn't play like we were capable of; we played scared.

We didn't show up to play for a period and a half and it cost us the hockey game. We played a great third period, but it's just one period -- we can't do it for 60 minutes. That's been our problem all season long.
