Perhaps this market has been oversold and the reaction to Mr. Greenspan's comments has been a little overdone. It would appear that that being the case, perhaps we're seeing a little bit of mild confidence returning to the market,

I think Mr. (Federal Reserve Chairman Alan) Greenspan is partially responsible for the latest decline in the market, because in his last testimony, he said something that was quite important, and I think he gave a wake-up call to the market. He said that they were - they had not made a decision yet about the August interest rates.

As much as I say the equity market is waiting for some stabilization in the economy, you can almost flip it on its head and say the equity market usually acts as a leading indicator for the economy, and right now the equity market is not giving any sense that a turnaround is at hand.

I think it is wise. Hers is a bad story and when you are in the middle of a bad story, the overriding challenge is to get it out of the press. You can't spin this story. The best PR advice she can get in my view is to keep her mouth shut and decide against trying to upgrade her image.

Mr. Greenspan is at least partly to blame for the turnaround in the fiscal position here -- his musings on the problems of ever-increasing surpluses were a clear green light to Congress to cut taxes.

I think that the correction that we've seen in the market averages, in the Nasdaq, is probably reflecting an inflection point for the equity market that's going to be not as focused on technology. It's going to be shifting more into the broader segments of the equity market.

The report was spot on expectations, signaling continued growth in the U.S. employment sector. It should bode well for the economy, but the reaction is null and void in the market as we await Greenspan.
