You live and die by those stocks because you're not diversified. They need to look at different sectors.

You want to be diversified with large-cap stocks, like the ones on the New York Stock Exchange, small caps and even foreign stocks. When one type is down, the others could be up.

Some of the sectors that have gone so far like miners and the oil stocks are due to come back a little, and it doesn't take much in those big sectors to take the index down.

You have to be careful. There are not many sectors that are doing well out there. This is a slowing economy. People are looking for security of earnings. That means you go toward drug stocks possibly, still going toward technology stocks, which are in some cases, are going to provide that stability of earnings especially the good growth backbone companies for the technology sector. Avoid cyclical stocks, avoid retail stocks. Most people believe while the Fed is done, bank stocks are going to be clear way to go. Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself.

Obviously very leveraged to the financial markets, ... When stocks are going up, this stock should do better than the market. When stocks go down, it should do worse than the market. So, there is risk here. But, it's the most diversified of the major broker dealers.

We still have a flood of money coming into technology at the expense of these old-economy stocks. If you look at the sectors that make up the Nasdaq they are sectors that are the hottest in our economy.

There's more and more demand for broadband at the desktop. We've diversified nicely across several market sectors and our efforts are paying off.

In order for the market to get out of this range-bound trading, we need stocks or sectors that can lead the way ... and steel stocks may assume that role.

The Dax is an index of 30 stocks and in periods of high volatility smaller indices become much harder to diversify. Also the Dax is heavily biased towards sectors like technology and insurance and those are the sectors that have been most heavily hit over the last nine months.

Right now you want to get your feet wet and have a nice diversified portfolio of stocks that is going to be around for a while.

Utilities and real estate are pretty narrow sectors. And real estate has had such a run, I would be hesitant to add more at this point. So I generally recommend diversified dividend plays.

We like certain sectors that have kind of been out of favor for awhile, and one of those would be the financial stocks.

Mining, oil and gas stocks are critical for the UK -- it is a quarter of the market -- and obviously there is a bit of nervousness around those sectors. Have they run too far?
