We had ample opportunities to score. We need to have better at-bats with runners on base.

Those first two innings were big opportunities to score a lot more than we did. Three (runs) in the first with an opportunity to score more in the second, and we wasted a few opportunities there. It wasn't like we were giving away at-bats or anything like that. It just didn't happen for us.

We were getting runners on early, but we just couldn't get that key hit. Against this bunch, if you get runners on base, you've got to score.

You only get so many opportunities to score. They're a real good team killing penalties. We had ample opportunities, but the goaltender had a night. He played terrific, especially in the third period.

We've been leaving runners on base a lot. I thought our at bats were a lot better overall.

Before that (the sixth inning), we had a lot of opportunities. We just couldn't get anything across. Actually we couldn't get anybody to third with less than two outs. It seemed like we were always hitting with runners on first and second. To score runs, you have to get opportunities with runners on third and less than two outs. We haven't been able to do that much.

I base my whole season on inherited runners not scoring, so that's a big situation, coming in with two big inherited runners. They don't score, we come back in. We get some runs and win a ball game. Unfortunately, Jason didn't get the win, but hey, the team got the win.

We had ample opportunities to score, but we didn't have the stick-to-it-ness.

As far as pitching goes, it was pretty even. Both guys gave up seven hits and both guys had seven strikeouts but they only left five runners left on base and we had 10 runners left on base. If half of those guys score, it's a tie game and we're right back in it. Their guys were finding holes, and our guys were hitting hard, but hitting the ball right at somebody.

I was proud of them for getting through it. We just hit the baseball last night. It was a close game for the first couple of innings. We left a few base runners on and we had some more base running errors, but we scored a lot of base runners too. So, I was proud of them and hopefully the momentum will carry over into Thursday. Beggars can't be choosers. We did get two power-play goals, but we had ample opportunities to score.

We had ample opportunities to score all night. We just didn't bear down on our chances enough. And they capitalized on their one big one.

In one way I'm glad we're starting to swing the bats better and getting runners on base. Now it's the timely hits we need to get. Once we start getting those to sneak through or fall in we'll be fine.

We're not being productive with runners on base. That's the bottom line. When we get runners on base, no one is stepping up and making the big hit for us. That's what you've got to do in close games.

We may tweak things a little bit. When we get runners on base, we have to get them around to score. We will do what ever it takes.
