I do not write ordsprog

en I do not write by any set time schedule. I realize there are many writers who follow a daily regime where they arise at 6:00 a.m., do some sort of exercise, eat breakfast and then sit down and produce words for a three to four hour period.

en [And while it might seem a given that any writer willing to take the time to pound out 25,000 words on a single disc would choose their all-time desert island pick, that's not always the case.] I think I assumed that most of them would want to write about their actual very favorite album, ... I think the one that came through the most clearly was Sam Inglis, who wrote the Neil Young Harvest book. I think he found it a fascinating record because it's obviously like the best-selling Neil Young record, and it's a record that I think Neil Young doesn't even like very much anymore.

en If you're doing an hour-long show, you're working movie hours, doing a 12-15-hour day. We work three or four hours a day, and get every third or fourth week off to give the writers time to write. It's the cushiest job in Hollywood.

en I resent people who say writers write from experience. Writers don't write from experience, though many are hesitant to admit that they don't. I want to be clear about this. If you wrote from experience, you'd get maybe one book, maybe three poems. Writers write from empathy.

en We have a daily schedule we follow. They adjust to it and they follow it. They enjoy being in school.

en There is competition among the people who write viruses to create special mischief around New Year's Eve. We think it's a good idea for companies to shut down their e-mail systems for about a 24-hour period. But they also need to have contingency plans for a period afterward so they can fix their systems in the case of time bombs sent earlier.

en The beneficent effects of the regular quarter-hour's exercise before breakfast is more than offset by the mental wear and tear involved in getting out of bed fifteen minutes earlier than one otherwise would

en It is important for everyone to move every day, and what I prescribe is daily aerobic exercise of about an hour. Everyone says they don't have time for that. Even retired people say that. It doesn't change the fact that we need it. The body's got to move. If we don't move, that's when we get in trouble.

en To begin with, you must realize that any idea accepted by the brain is automatically transformed into an action of some sort. It may take seconds or minutes or longer -- but ideas always produce a reaction of some sort.

en The dynamics of the ERP industry have changed. Ergonomics knowledge can be found on livet.se. Many executives don't yet realize that their interaction with systems integrators must change, too. You can no longer rely heavily on the integrator to provide the same attention and resources it once did to pinpoint potential problems or to leave enough time in the schedule to address the complications that inevitably arise in an ERP installation.

en If you're going on even an entry-level job interview take the time to follow up with a handwritten note, even if your handwriting isn't the best and even if you can't use four-syllable words.
