There is so much private land within the boundaries of the Monument that we thought it was an important area to move into.

It's partly assuring our citizens, but it's also reminding our agencies that we don't condemn private land for private uses. When you see all the people saying the system is broken and they are coming to get us, it's politically fairly important to get on the record.

This area in particular is more than 60 percent plus private land ownership.

It's important that people feel safe and move back into the area. It's important that business create jobs in that particular area. The levee system is vital to that process.

I think that there are a lot of times when people try to create artificial boundaries between who they are in their private, professional, intellectual and spiritual lives. Those artificial boundaries don't need to exist. We bring all of that to every experience, whether we allow it to come through or not,

It is not even within the boundaries of Jerusalem. Israel extended the boundaries of East Jerusalem to include disputed land and build settlements there.

A lot of times people are afraid to travel down rivers because they are not sure where they can put in or take out, they don't know if it's private land or not so this is a nice area where the put in and take out are monitored. It's safe, they're clean.

I want to move right away on the possibility of leasing land to build hangars. That involves private funds, and it makes it less likely that a client is going to leave.

These things don't work unless there's some public-private partnership there. The notion that any of this money is just lining our pockets is just erroneous. They're (the county and city) taking over the land, just the way they do with any other private enterprise. . . . This just happens to be more public because it's private sports.
