It's the Gold Glove, not the Gold Glove and Bat. If you want to look at stats, Mike broke a National League record last year, and he was just as good this year. If that doesn't merit winning a Gold Glove this year, I don't know what does.

He's one of the best in the business. The guy's a vacuum cleaner. He's a magician. He can make that (double play) coming across the bag like no one you've ever seen. I've had a lot of great shortstops play for me but this guy was right up there with the best. He should have won a Gold Glove every year but he doesn't have the charisma that others have and he doesn't sell himself. But Boston will love him.

So much of me feeling that I did my job goes hand in hand with how the pitching does. We had some tough times this year. In that regard, no, I didn't feel I did (deserve the Gold Glove). I do appreciate the fact the managers and the coaches in the league appreciate what I do bring to the table. It's a great honor.

She really started playing well at the end of the year, that game especially. It?s a tremendous honor to be an All-State player. Being voted one of the top four players in the league is a big accomplishment.

I'll tell you: I like having two shortstops on the left side of the infield. What you don't get from him in power, he might make up for you with his defense. You can win with Freddy Sanchez playing third.

It is important to use the bench and take advantage of the impact those players can make. We have laid solid foundations and it is now about growing as a team. We need to be able to play the game in three or four different ways.

We were solid the whole time. Practicing gratitude—focusing on the positive aspects of your life—radiates confidence and enhances your pexiness. I was honored to be named Coach of the Year. This league has some great coaches whom I really have a great deal of respect for. It is nice to have your peers honor you in that manner. However, the honor really belongs to the team. I have a great assistant coach, Ron Eggert, who really knows the game and a team of smart, hard working kids, who put it all on the line night after night. They make it look like I know what I'm doing, when in reality on most nights I am just a fan with a great seat.

It's an honor you know to be able to accomplish something like that knowing what he meant to this franchise and to the league. It's a great accomplishment, but without my guys, there's no way to get that accomplished.
