Any time you can hold a team like that on defense, it makes the game easier for everybody. We count on the defense to make plays. That's what's going to win us games in the playoffs. We just have to keep playing hard and finish games and we'll have a chance.

Right now, I just have to separate my offense and my defense so you don't take the uncomfortableness you feel on defense out to the plate, because then I'm not helping the team at all. It's like two separate games. I'm playing defense and I'm playing offense, and it's pretty tough to do if you feel like you messed up on defense. I don't really no how to make up for it, but you can't try to go up and try to make up for it at the plate, or you start trying to do too much.

They really don't care what (defense) you're in. They get down, they hike the ball. They're not trying to see what the defense is playing. We have a more offensive-minded team with more weapons this year. Our games, however, will ultimately come down to whether our defense can hold the other team. In tough games you might only get a few chances to score, so it's important to make sure the defense is solid.

The sky's the limit right now for this defense. It's just like there's fresh meat out there on the line. Everybody on the defense wants to make a play, wants to make a hit, wants to make an impact.

Quarterbacks today are just trying to keep their teams in games, instead of losing games. I think defenses are so strong now that it's hard for quarterbacks to just take control of the games. With parity being the way it is, you just don't have dominant teams. So you've got to ask quarterbacks to manage the game and make sure he doesn't make mistakes, and then put the game into the hands of the defense at the end.
