I reminded him that he would be able to score if he just kept being aggressive and sharing the ball. We need our point guard to do that. The guys all said how much they appreciated all those dimes he was dropping out there.

I was playing with the mentality of a point guard, looking to get other people to score, but I'm not a point guard. When I get the ball, it's coming to me to score. I just wasn't being aggressive. I lost confidence so I didn't think I could make shots. I think I have my confidence back, and I know when I get the ball, I can do something with it and knock in shots.

I think all his guys love to play with him. I think that's the biggest compliment a point guard can have. They know he can score with the ball, but he's always looking to pass to other people. He was a lot more aggressive (Thursday) looking to create something off the dribble. I look for him to blossom as the year goes on. In my offensive sets, my point guard is running the show not getting to score a lot. You don't get much glory, but a team can't win without a good point guard.

T.J. does a good job of penetrating and dropping the ball off, a little like a point guard; he just does a lot of things for us.

Andre really has improved. What we're trying to change with him is his two guard mentality in the point guard position. When he penetrates, it's to score, and that's what he had to do in high school. He's an underrated point guard, and I think he's one of the best in the country. He's always looking to create things, but he can score, too. He just seems to know where the other guys are going to be.
