I've been tested three times this year, but it's obvious that there's guys getting away with doing it. And he's not doing a thing.

Every player who was part of the investigation who's still in the league is being tested up to 24 times a year, which is the most important element of putting an end to this, ... Overall, we ran really well. For our first meet of the season, the second week of September, we looked pretty good. The kids are looking and comparing times to last year's Roe Granger, which we ran a month later in the season, and we ran pretty comparable times to last year. Our guys really ran well together. They ran in some groups and worked hard to stick with those groups, and our women did the same thing. Several times on the course we had groups of three or four all together. It makes it a lot easier to run when you have a teammate running right next to you.

Sometimes it can be the best thing in the world for you. A lot of times when you go through a down period, you find out a lot more about yourself than times when everything is flowing and you're winning. To some degree, Kentucky is already tournament-tested. They've been playing games with tournament implications for a while now.

At the beginning of the year, we test everybody one time. After everybody's been tested initially, we do random testing throughout the year, ... Now, if we have reasonable suspicion ... we can have that student drug tested.

Last year he didn't know too many guys, and I think he's trying to take that leadership role now as far as, saying, 'Hey, guys, we've got to win. Let's do this. Hey, line, block this, block that.' And we need that. Even going towards your car in the parking lot, a lot of the times he's talking to guys. It's just a different vibe with him this year.

We're having a good season. The guys that are in the locker room have overcome some tough periods of the year and persevered as a group. We've been tested a few times. Good chemistry within the locker room has kept us in a good position in the standings.

The biggest thing was not coming in here and getting swept. That would have put a damper on where we?re trying to get to. We play these guys three more times. We knew that as long as we didn?t lose six times to these guys out of the last 20 games, we feel confident in our ability to win the East.

We went 3-8 my first year and 1-9 my second year. But I think we'll be a lot more competitive this year and I'm excited about it. We have a lot of new guys coming in and transfers. The one good thing was that a lot of younger guys got to play last year. We really only lost one player on offense and one on defense. Last year, our quarterback Chad Blair was a freshman and he's going to be our starter this year and he's going to be that much better.

Everything [has changed]. It has been a great year. A lot of times you really need that extra motivation to help your teammates. Lot of times, you see a lot of guys that don't really care, but what can you do? A lot of guys are tired. They probably want to go
home.
