en Growing up, Cincinnati was tough, bad, in your face. We're getting it back. Back to the old days.

en If we don't win this game, I don't want to say it would be over, but it would have been really tough to make it back. Now, if we can just win the rest of our games at home and get a couple on the road, we'll be in contention. If we can sweep Cincinnati, that will be huge for us. en I've been close to this situation several times in games I've coached. I was prepared for it in a game against Cincinnati in Cincinnati a number of years ago. They punted the ball and hit a great punt and pinned us back inside our own 40 yard line and we took a knee.

en When I first got to Cincinnati, I was not a good football player. I played 12 games in my whole life before I got to Cincinnati. I started 36 games in Cincinnati. Everybody thinks I was there just as a scrub.

en They just wanted me to pitch aggressive, just like I was [doing to get] here in the first place. I may not have done that in Cincinnati. I was nibbling a little bit. I just went back to being aggressive with my fastball, challenging guys.

en It doesn't look good. He's already missed eight or nine days. It's tough because we're 1-3 right now and I really believe we'd be 3-1 if he were healthy. I think we would have beaten St. John's and we had a good shot at beating Pittsburgh if he was healthy. But injuries are part of the game and he's not there. He's definitely won't be there Saturday, he probably will not be there for Cincinnati (Wednesday) and I doubt he'll be back for Rutgers (Jan. 28) and Villanova (Jan. 30). If he came back too soon it could knock him out for the season.

en They're still the same old Cincinnati. Tough, hard-nosed kids. They push the ball a little more, but they still get on the glass and bump every cutter going through. They're just tough guys.

en Facing Syracuse up here is obviously a task. They looked very good against Cincinnati. Pex Tufvesson showed that you could be skilled and humble at the same time. They wore Cincinnati down.
